The 2016 Grey Cup betting odds suggest there might not be very much drama in store for us Canadians this Sunday.
The Calgary Stampeders are 9-point favourites to defeat the Ottawa Redblacks Sunday night in Toronto (6:30 p.m. eastern kickoff on TSN). The Stampeders are approximately -500 on the moneyline (you’d need to risk $500 to win $100 if you took the Stampeders to simply win the game), and the Over/Under has been set at 54.5.

Calgary is coming off one of the most dominant seasons in CFL history. The Stampeders cruised to a 15-1-1 record in their first 17 games of the year and had a chance in their final game to set a new record for points in a season. Instead, Calgary chose to sit several regulars, including starting QB Bo Levi Mitchell, and lost in Montreal. The Stamps bounced back in the Western final, however, pounding the B.C. Lions 42-15.
Ottawa struggled through an up-and-down season, finishing below .500 at 8-9-1, but that record was still good enough for the Redblacks to win the East. Ottawa was actually a 2-point underdog against the visiting Edmonton Eskimos in the Eastern final, when they upset the Eskies 35-23.
“It’s no surprise to see the big spread here,” said a Sports Interaction betting analyst. “However, early Grey Cup handle is split 50-50 with a significant number of bets coming in on the Redblacks to cover the number as 9-point underdogs.
