9 Great Twitter Accounts To Follow For NFL Betting

If you’re into NFL betting, Twitter can be your best friend.

With Twitter, you can get the latest injury updates, breaking news, weather reports or even NFL betting picks delivered straight to your computer or mobile device, all in 140-character-or-less increments.

If you’re familiar with Twitter, however, you know there’s a whole lot of tweetin’ going on out there. It’s important to narrow down your list of people you follow for NFL betting in order to avoid information overload.

Here’s a list of our favourite Twitter accounts to follow for NFL betting.

1. Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)

If you’re on the fence about following Adam Schefter, you might be swayed by the fact that 5.25 million other people have followed him first. Schefter is arguably the face of ESPN’s football coverage, though you can’t go wrong following his colleague Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) as well.

2. Peter King (@SI_PeterKing)

Perhaps the Grand Poobah of NFL writers. Peter King has spent nearly three decades covering the NFL for Sports Illustrated, and you’ll often see or hear him talking NFL on TV and radio.

3. David Payne Purdum (@Davidpurdum)

David Purdum is a lead writer for ESPNchalk.com, a section of the ESPN website that focuses solely on sports betting. He gives excellent insight into where the big money is going on each game and what the oddsmakers are thinking.

4. Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons)

When he wasn’t too busy ripping Roger Goodell or ESPN, the creator of Grantland has developed a huge following when it comes to his weekly NFL betting picks against the spread.

5. Todd Fuhrman (@ToddFuhrman)

A former sports analyst at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Fuhrman brings an oddsmaker’s perspective to the NFL betting conversation. He’ll also happy to teach you a thing or two about NFL handicapping.

7. Brian Burke (@bburkeESPN)

If you’re into using advanced statistics to handicap football, not just your gut, this guy’s an excellent resource. Burke (not the famous NHL GM with the bad hair) was the creator of Advanced Football Analytics before being hired as the sports analytics expert at ESPN.

8. Stuckey (@Stuckey2)

We’re still not sure how profitable it is to follow Stuckey’s picks blindly, but it sure is entertaining. The guy seemingly never sleeps, offering both picks and hilarious takes on the NFL as well as college basketball, tennis, hockey and almost any other sport you can think of.

9. Scott Kellen (@SixthSenseNFL)

Kellen is the only two-time champion of the Golden Nugget Football Showdown (formerly the Cantor Football Showdown). He’s made money betting on the NFL in 9 of the past 12 seasons. He has a website (www.sixthsensesports.com) which he once used to sell his NFL picks, but now he provides them for free on Twitter.
