The college football bowls season kicked off last weekend with five games. There will be five more before Christmas, when the action really gets started.

Here’s a quick look at the five college football bowl games slated for the next few days. College bowl games odds posted are as of Monday morning.

Monday, Dec. 22

Miami Beach Bowl: BYU vs Memphis (-2)

Memphis, which is seeking its first 10-win season in school history, has the fifth-ranked defence in the country, allowing an average of 17.1 points per game. BYU, which is making its 10th straight appearance in the college bowl games, scored 42-plus in each of its last three contests this year.

Tuesday, Dec. 23

Boca Raton Bowl: Northern Illinois vs Marshall (-10)

Marshall’s only loss this season came by one point, 67-66 in OT to Western Kentucky.

Poinsettia Bowl: Navy vs San Diego State (-2.5)

San Diego State gets to play its college bowl game in its home city. Navy is familiar with the surroundings too, however, having played in the Poinsettia Bowl three other times since 2005.

Wednesday, Dec. 24

Bahamas Bowl: Central Michigan vs Western Kentucky (-3)

Offence versus defence here. Western Kentucky ranks sixth in the NCAA in scoring and total offence, using that attack to defeat No. 20 Marshall 67-66 in its last game of the regular season. Central Michigan boasts the top total defence in the Mid-American Conference. Somehow, both teams were only 7-5 this season.

Hawai’i Bowl: Fresno State vs Rice (-2)

Playing in Hawaii on Christmas Eve could be distracting, which Fresno State learned two years ago when it was pounded in this bowl 43-10 by SMU. Rice got blown out 76-31 by Louisiana Tech in its last game, so it will be interesting to see how the Owls bounce back.
