Warriors Nearly Even Odds To Win Final In 6 Or Less

The Golden State Warriors are a significant favourite to avenge last year’s humiliating loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers when the 2017 NBA Finals get underway Thursday.

Canadian sports betting site Sports Interaction lists the Warriors at -250 odds to win the NBA championship, which is actually a cheaper price tag than many other sportsbooks list Golden State at. Pinnacle.com has the Warriors at -260, while others make the Dubs a -270 favorite.

The reasons to bet the Warriors are obvious. On top of being the best regular-season team in the NBA for the third straight year, Golden State has made it clear that it hasn’t gotten over becoming the first team to blow a 3-1 series lead in the Finals last year. In fact, Warriors ownership and players even went as far to say that they wanted to face the Cavs in the championship.

Cleveland is no push over, obviously, after going 12-1 through the first 3 rounds of the playoffs, including a sweep of the Toronto Raptors in Round 2. But if you want to bet the Warriors to win the title, you can get them at a much nicer price if you take them to win the series in 6 games or less.

Golden State pays -125 odds on the -1.5 series handicap, which means they have to win the series by at least 2 games. In order to cover this spread, the Warriors would need to win the Finals 4-0, 4-1 or 4-2.

At +1.5 on the series handicap, the Cavaliers pay -110 odds. Cleveland will cover this spread if they win the series, or if they lose it 4-3.

Here’s a look at some of the other ways to bet the NBA Finals at Sports Interaction.
