NBA Monday Betting Preview: Clippers at Spurs

Blake Griffin looks to help the Clippers end their struggles in San Antonio.

LA Clippers at San Antonio Spurs (-4.5, O/U 198.5)

The San Antonio Spurs look to avenge a beatdown from two weeks ago when they host the Los Angeles Clippers in the marquee game of Monday’s NBA action.
LA blasted the Spurs 106-84 Nov. 7 at Staples Centre, a win that kick-started a five-game winning streak the Clippers will ride into Monday’s contest. It also came against a San Antonio squad that had won 52 of its last 58 against the Clips and swept LA from last year’s playoffs.
Winning in San Antonio has proved difficult enough for the Clippers the last decade or so. LA has lost 28 of its last 30 visits to San Antonio, and facing a motivated Spurs squad Monday won’t make it any easier.
San Antonio is 4-1 at home after a 126-100 rout of Denver Saturday, when the Spurs hit 16 of 27 three-point attempts. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker were able to rest in the fourth quarter.
LA is coming off a decisive win of its own, a 101-80 victory over the Bulls Saturday. Blake Griffin had 26 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
The over is 10-2-2 in the last 14 meetings between the teams in San Antonio. The Clippers have gone over the total in 25 of their last 37 games against teams with a winning percentage above .600.
