NHL Betting Picks For Monday, December 4

We’re back today with more free NHL betting picks after going 6-3 last week to improve to 10-5 on the season!

There are just four games in the National Hockey League tonight, and only one of them involves a Canadian team. That just happens to be the game we’ve circled for a bet for tonight, looking to cash in on a nice underdog price.

NHL Predictions For Tonight

Philadelphia Flyers at Calgary Flames

No bettors want a piece of the Philadelphia Flyers right now, and for good reason. The Flyers have lost 10 straight games, getting outscored 37-20 over that stretch. Yet, oddsmakers are making them underdogs of only around +130 tonight in Calgary. That’s our first hint that we’re on the right path here by looking to back Philadelphia.

The best thing for the Flyers to do right now is get out of town. Tonight is the first game of a western road trip, a chance for the Flyers to hit the mental restart button and try to turn things around by playing a solid road game. That starts in the first period.

Philadelphia’s got an even better chance at getting through the first 20 minutes with a lead because the Flames have often found themselves trailing after the first period this season. In fact, Calgary has been behind or tied after 20 minutes in 23 of its 26 games on the year. The Flames were also notoriously slow starters in first periods last year on home ice, so this isn’t anything irregular or odd.

There’s tons of value on the Flyers first period moneyline at +123, knowing that the Flames would need to do something they’ve only done 3 times in 26 game in order for us to lose this bet. Let’s take a shot at the plus-money reward.
