For the entire regular season, the narrative about the San Jose Sharks was how they were so good on the road but couldn’t win at home.
San Jose won a league-high 28 games in enemy territory, yet was a mediocre 18-20-1-2 at the SAP Center. What made it even more puzzling was that the Sharks had been one of the league’s best home teams for the better part of a decade.
Well, it seems the Sharks have figured out their issues on home ice.
Their 3-0 blanking of the Blues in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals was their sixth straight win at home. Not only that, they’ve outscored their opponents 24-7 during that stretch.
They can put a 3-1 chokehold on St. Louis in Game 4 Saturday, and would only need to win their remaining home games in the series to advance to the Cup final.
Before the Western Conference final started, San Jose was a +120 series underdog to the Blues and +400 to win the Stanley Cup. Now, they’re paying +170 to win the Cup.
