Braves vs Blue Jays MLB Betting Odds And Pick (May 15)

Fresh off a four-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners, the Jays get right back to it tonight when they host the Atlanta Braves in the opening game of a two-game interleague series at the Rogers Centre.

Following Sunday’s 3-2 win over Seattle on Kevin Pillar’s walkoff homer in the bottom of the ninth, the Jays have now won five straight and 11 of 15. We were on the Blue Jays moneyline both Thursday and Friday before taking the weekend off, and we also hit the Penguins +170 moneyline winner over Washington on Thursday night, so we’ll try to stay hot with these betting picks as well.

Let’s take a look at tonight’s Braves/Blue Jays matchup.

Braves Vs. Blue Jays Betting Odds At Pinnacle

Braves vs Blue Jays betting odds May 15

The Blue Jays opened as -135 favourites Sunday at Pinnacle. They were bet down to the -120 range by Monday morning, but the line had trickled back up to -125 by early afternoon. The Over/Under was set at 9 with -113 juice on the Over, but moved slightly down to the point where the Over 9 and Under 9 pay nearly the same. The Jays pay +161 odds on the -1.5 run line handicap, which requires them to win the game by more than 1 run (similar to the Proline H+).

Braves Vs. Blue Jays Betting Pick

The Braves give the ball to Bartolo Colon, whose age might finally be catching up with him. The portly 43-year-old has been knocked around this season to the tune of a 1-4 record and 7.22 ERA. His biggest problem this year has been the long ball, with Colon giving up a career high 2.09 homers per nine innings over his first seven starts. His walk rate is also up pretty significantly this season, which spells trouble for a guy who doesn’t have strikeout stuff anymore.

Toronto is countering with Mike Bolsinger, who pitched well in his Jays debut last Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians. Bolsinger gave up two runs on three hits over 5.2 innings, though he did walk four. Bolsinger is coming off a down season with the Dodgers in 2016 (1-4, 6.83 ERA) but tonight will face a Braves offense that ranks 21st in the majors in runs per game and just 26th in homers. Atlanta’s been held to three runs or less in four of its last five games and five of seven.

The Jays are finally catching some breaks and playing with confidence as they fight to get back to .500 after their awful start. The bats have heated up of late, scoring four runs or more in five of their last seven outings, and we don’t see Colon shutting them down. Look for John Gibbons to have a short leash on Bolsinger tonight and turn things to his bullpen, which has been excellent this month. At this low price, we’ll ride the streak with the Blue Jays here.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -125 (Bet this game at Pinnacle)
