The biggest college bowl games of the season kick off New Year’s Day, including the semifinals of the first college football playoff.

Alabama and Oregon are both favoured by more than a touchdown on the Sports Interaction college bowl games odds to advance to the national championship game next week.

It may seem odd to see Florida State — which hasn’t lost a game in more than two seasons — as a 7.5-point underdog. But the Seminoles have been far from dominant this year. Seven of their 13 wins came by less than a touchdown and they were 3-10 against the spread. And when a point spread seems much higher than it should be, the oddsmakers might be suggesting who they think will cover.

It’s no surprise to see Alabama as a large favourite over Ohio State. The Buckeyes were impressive in the Big 10 championship game with their third-string quarterback, but Nick Saban has had a month to prepare and won’t be surprised by any Ohio State tricks.

If you’re going to bet on these college bowl games, we suggest doing a 6-point teaser on the two favourites at Sports Interaction. This would allow you to take Oregon and Alabama at under a field goal each, at almost even odds.

Below are Sports Interaction’s odds on the other college bowl games scheduled for New Year’s Day.
