We’re down to the final four in Euro 2016.

Semifinals will be played Wednesday and Thursday, with the winners advancing to Sunday’s championship game.

In Wednesday’s contest, Portugal will take on Wales. Thursday, Germany and France will clash in a matchup of traditional European powers.

Portugal is nearly a 1:2 favourite to defeat Wales and advance to the title match, while Germany and France is essentially a coin toss.

Euro 2016 Semifinal Picks

  1. Portugal/Wales Under 2 (+102 at Pinnacle): It’s hard to believe, but Portugal has yet to win a game in regulation time in this tournament. Can their charmed life continue? Probably… Wales is without 2 key players for this match due to suspension (Ben Davies and Aaron Ramsey) which should allow Portugal to focus even more attention on Wales star Gareth Bale. Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale’s teammate in Champions League play with Real Madrid, may come up with a big goal as he often does in big games, but we see a pretty defensive battle here. Unders aren’t fun to bet on, but it seems like the play.
  2. Germany to advance (+102 at Pinnacle): Last we saw France, they were pummelling Iceland 5-2 Sunday in the final game of the quarter-final round. Germany, meanwhile, had to sweat out a shootout win over Italy. There’s no question which team looked more impressive last time out, and Germany has a few injury concerns, yet the teams are basically even odds in this matchup. We can’t forget Germany is still a slight favourite at most sportsbooks to win Euro 2016, and they have the remaining core from the 2014 World Cup championship squad that blew out Brazil 7-1 in the final. We’ll go with the proven side over the host team at plus money, though we won’t be surprised by any result in this one.
