Free NFL Pick For Sunday Oct. 2

Every now and then here at Sportsbookbonus.ca, we’ll be posting a free pick that we are betting ourselves.

Like anyone else, we’re not going to win every single one of these plays. But over time, we expect these picks to be profitable for both us and our followers.

We suffered a tough loss yesterday in college football with the Stanford Cardinal +7 at the Oregon Ducks. Stanford blew out to an early 21-3 lead before somehow collapsing in the second half. The Cardinal’s last two possessions both ended inside the Oregon 10-yard line as Stanford turned the ball over on downs and then was intercepted in the end zone, killing our chances.

But that’s just one game. We turn the page today, and the NFL game we like most on Sunday is the San Diego Chargers -9 vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

San Diego is coming off an embarrassing loss to Seattle last week. But consider this. Despite turning the ball over FIVE times and allowing TWO kick returns for touchdowns, the Chargers still had a chance to win that game in the final minute. That’s how much they dominated the Seahawks, but stupid mistakes cost San Diego the game. We expect a big crackdown on mistakes this week as the talent-laden Chargers look to rebound.

Meanwhile, Arizona just looks awful. They needed Sebastian Janikowski to miss a short field goal last week to avoid losing to the Raiders at home, and their only win came over a bad Rams team (once again coming down to the wire). In their other loss, the Cardinals were pounded by the Falcons. In that Atlanta game two weeks ago, Arizona seemed to quit when it got down a few scores. We remember Arizona as a passing team because of the Kurt Warner era, but Derek Anderson is the Cards’ pivot now and this team is a shell of its former offensive self. Don’t expect Arizona to trade points with San Diego this afternoon.

Getting San Diego at -9 (or -9.5) is important because if the Chargers win by a touchdown and a field goal, we’ll cover the spread. We expect them to win by a lot more than that.

Take San Diego -9, and good luck!
