We should get a fired-up group of Jets for this game after Winnipeg was humiliated 7-4 at home Wednesday by the Canadiens. That spells trouble for a Coyotes squad that is overmatched from a talent perspective every time it hits the ice, plus Arizona is playing its first game since Saturday. Winnipeg has had no issue scoring goals lately (3+ goals in 7 of its last 9 games) and should continue doing that, even without Laine, against Arizona’s struggling defence (3+ goals against in 9 of its last 10).

2. Blue Jackets First Period Moneyline -118 (Pinnacle)

Columbus looks to bounce back after going 1-3 in its last 4 games following that 16-game winning streak. We like their chances of the outright victory tonight in Tampa, but will take the Jackets on the first period moneyline instead because of their track record in opening frames this season (1.05-0.53 average on the year). Tampa’s been a slow starter at home throughout the year and could struggle to match the Jackets’ intensity early, especially after standing around for a pre-game ceremony to retire the jersey of Martin St. Louis.
