NHL Betting Picks For Tonight

1. Blackhawks/Coyotes Over 5 -125 (Bodog)

This is a good focus spot for the Blackhawks, who have lost 3 straight games. However, snapping out of losing streaks usually isn’t easy and we think the Coyotes can put up a bit of a fight here, so we’ll look to the Over instead in the hopes that both teams score at least a couple of goals. Chicago has been struggling on the defensive end, allowing 3 goals or more in 7 of its last 9 games, while the Coyotes’ offence is clicking about as well as it can, striking for 3+ goals in 5 of 6. Chicago likely wins this game but as long as Arizona can put up a couple of goals, we’ve got a great chance to cash the Over on this low total.

2. Jets/Stars Over 7 +227 (Pinnacle)

The Over in this game is probably the squarest pick on tonight’s NHL lines, so we’ll step it up to Over 7 on the alternate lines (the Over/Under is actually 6) and shoot for a big score. We’d need 7 goals to cash this ticket anyway on the Over 6, and there’s just so much potential for either (or both) teams to go off here. Winnipeg has scored 5+ goals in 4 of its last 6 games, and Dallas has given up 3 goals or more in 8 straight games. The Stars have struck for 3 goals or more in 6 of their last 9 games, and the Jets still haven’t resolved their goaltending issues, allowing 3+ goals in 10 straight. The Over is also 8-1-1 in Winnipeg’s last 10 games and 12-3-1 in its last 16, and the teams combined for 10 goals the last time they met Nov. 8 in Winnipeg.

3. Flyers Team Total Under 2.5 -118 (Pinnacle)

Philadelphia seems to have the reputation as a high-scoring team, but that hasn’t been the case for the past month or so. In 8 of their last 10 games, the Flyers have been held to 2 goals or less in regulation time. Confidence isn’t that high on the Philly offensive front, and now they have to face Carey Price and a Montreal team that has allowed 2 or less goals in regulation in 5 of their last 7 outings. The Canadiens have struggled over the years in Philly but whether they win or lose this one, we like their chances of grounding the Flyers’ attack tonight.
