1. Penguins Team Total Over 2.5 -123 (Pinnacle)
Sometimes the best picks are the most obvious ones. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why we might want to bet the Penguins to score more than 2 goals after seeing them pot 8 goals Monday against Washington. Montreal’s had some bigtime defensive problems of late, allowing 3 goals or more in 6 of its last 7 games. This should be a high-scoring back and forth game for both sides but rather than going with the Over 5.5 that either requires both teams to score 3 goals or one to score 4+, we’ll take the Penguins to score at least 3 tonight.

2. Kings Moneyline -119 (5Dimes)
We watched the Sharks’ 5-2 win over the Jets Monday afternoon and weren’t very impressed. Winnipeg actually carried the play throughout the first half of the game and San Jose needed a few big saves from Martin Jones and a couple of weak goals against the Jets’ struggling goalies to pull away. LA is coming off a 2-1 loss at home to Tampa Bay in which the Kings deserved better, and they’re playing their final game of a homestand tonight before heading out on an east coast road trip. We think they get their 3rd straight win over the Sharks tonight and board the airplane in a good mood.
