It's not often you can bet on Noah Syndergaard at close to even odds. (Photo credit: apardavila via Foter.com / CC BY)

Tonight, we like the New York Mets to beat the Washington Nationals.

As of 4 p.m. eastern, you could get that bet at -116 odds at Pinnacle, -117 at Bodog and -120 odds at Sports Interaction.

Mets/Nationals Betting Pick And Writeup

Mets starter Noah Syndergaard is one of the dominant starters in baseball (not to rub it in, Jays fans, but it’s true), and he’s usually favoured by much more than this. We think we get a discount on these odds because there was concern about his elbow after his last start, but he’s received clearance from doctors and is expected to have no restrictions tonight.

Syndergaard has dominated the Nationals in his career (1.33 ERA in four career starts) and is coming off a sub-par outing (3 runs, 8 hits in 6 innings versus Kansas City).

Washington won yesterday in Milwaukee to snap a 7-game losing streak, and this is the Nats’ first game home after a 10-game road trip. Joe Ross has been good for the Nationals and can keep things close, but he’s no Syndergaard and he’s allowed 3 or more runs in 3 of his last 4 starts.
