Kentucky Given 56% Chance Of Winning March Madness

The Kentucky Wildcats were close to even odds to win March Madness before the tournament started, and not much has changed going into the Final Four.

The Wildcats are listed at -127 on the Pinnacle Sports March Madness odds to win the NCAA basketball championship and finish the season undefeated. Those odds suggest a 56% probability of Kentucky winning both its semifinal game Saturday against Wisconsin and then beating either Duke or Michigan State in Monday’s NCAA championship game.

According to an ESPN.com article Monday, sportsbooks are cheering against Kentucky. Last summer, William Hill posted 50:1 odds on Kentucky going undefeated this season, and the U.K. book would have to pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars if the Wildcats win two more games.

“We’re stuck rooting for Wisconsin,” Nick Bogdanovich, William Hill director of trading, told ESPN.com.

Duke is the second-most likely team to win the NCAA championship, according to the Pinnacle Sports March Madness odds. The Blue Devils are listed at +297, followed by Wisconsin at +436 and Michigan State at +820.
