Nashville Predators Flying Under Radar In NHL Betting

The Nashville Predators might be the best-kept secret in NHL betting.

While public favourites like the Blackhawks, Penguins and Canadiens continue to command steep NHL odds, the Predators quietly keep on winning.

Nashville boasts the best goal differential this season in the NHL, and they are the favourite on the NHL betting Stanley Cup odds.

Predators Underrated On Nightly NHL Betting Odds

But when it comes to nightly NHL betting, most bettors still haven’t noticed.

“Nashville is the best team on current form in the league right now, but the Predators have no public profile. None,” said a Sports Interaction NHL betting analyst. “That’s very surprising to us, but we’re appropriately grateful too.”

The Predators are 25-3-0-1 on home ice this year, but they have been less than -200 favourites on the NHL betting odds in all but three of those home games. -200 odds suggest a 66% chance of winning, while Nashville has won 86% of its games at Bridgestone Arena.

One thing that might be keeping the Predators’ profile low is the fact that they don’t routinely blow teams out.

34 of the Preds’ first 57 games were decided by one goal, with Nashville winning 24 of those. The Predators actually rank in the middle of the pack when it comes to their record against the puck line. If you bet $100 on Nashville -1.5 every time it was favoured and +1.5 every time it was underdogged this year, you’d be down $356.

The Predators have also earned 11 of their first 39 wins in overtime or a shootout, so it doesn’t make much sense to bet on them to win in regulation time.

Your best choice for betting on Nashville this season seems to be on the moneyline. You’ll have to lay -150 to -175 most of the time on the NHL betting odds, but it’s still a bargain.
