Comparing Proline NFL Odds To Sportsbook Odds

Parlays can turn a small wager into a big payday.

Parlay betting.

We’re told it’s for suckers. But almost all of us do it.

If you bet with online sportsbooks, you probably can’t resist the fat parlay odds.

And if you bet with Ontario Proline, Atlantic Canada Proline, Western Canada Proline or British Columbia Sports Action, you don’t have a choice about parlay betting. Our provincial sports lotteries require you to pick at least two outcomes and get all of them right (unless you pick 11 or 12) to win your bet, which is what parlay betting is.

Parlay odds, even with Proline or Sports Action, are fat for a reason.

In theory, each football spread pick you make has a 50% chance of winning (cover or not). That means you have a 25% chance of going 2-for-2, a 12.5% chance of going 3-for-3, and so on.

Online sportsbooks, Proline and Sports Action make their money by offering you a return that doesn’t quite match what the true parlay odds are.

So if you’re going to regularly do parlay betting, you want to make damn sure you get as close to what you’re entitled to as possible.

Here’s a look at what Ontario Proline, British Columbia Sports Action, Western Canada Proline, Atlantic Canada Proline, Pinnacle Sports and the rest of our recommended sportsbooks offer on football parlay odds.

Three things about Proline football parlay odds and Sports Action football parlay odds:

  • If you like to do football parlay betting, it sucks to live out west.
  • Of all the provincial sports lotteries, Ontario Proline is easily the best for overall football parlay odds.
  • Atlantic Canada Proline offers the best football parlay odds on two-game and three-game parlays.

But the biggest and most obvious thing of all:

  • Proline and Sports Action football parlay odds do not compare at all to online sportsbooks.

Even on two-game football parlay betting, Pinnacle Sports offers a 25% higher payout than Atlantic Canada Proline. On three-game football parlay betting, online sportsbooks pay out at least 50% more than Proline and Sports Action.

The greater the number of games in the football parlay, the greater the disparity between online sportsbook football parlay odds and Proline or Sports Action.

In fact, by the time you get up to a 12-game football parlay, Pinnacle Sports and other online sportsbooks pay as much as 6 times what the provincial sports lotteries do.

Why would I do any football parlay betting with Proline or Sports Action?

  • You can still win money if you get 10 out of 12, 11 out of 12 or 10 out of 11 correct. (With Ontario Proline, you’ll get $40 profit on a $10 bet if you go 10 for 12, but it’s better than nothing.)
  • You can occasionally find more favourable NFL lines on Proline and Sports Action than you can with online sportsbooks. (You might get a 3.5 point underdog at 4.5 points, for example.)
  • You aren’t comfortable betting with online sportsbooks. (Don’t worry, you won’t go to jail; there are many online sportsbooks you can trust with your money; and it is easy to deposit or withdraw money from them.)
