The Toronto Maple Leafs have been the biggest moneymaker this NHL betting season. And it’s not even close.
Since their humiliating 9-2 loss on home ice to Nashville a month ago, the Leafs have earned points in 10 of 11 games, winning nine of them. That includes victories as underdogs of +127 (versus Tampa Bay), +112 (versus Vancouver), +180 (at Detroit) and +135 (versus Los Angeles).
Toronto is now a stunning 21-9 against the NHL betting puck line (-1.5 for favourites, +1.5 for underdogs), making $1,708 this season for anyone who bet $100 on the Leafs every game.
Part of the reason Toronto is so profitable is because when they win, they typically win by two goals or more, which pays big on the -1.5 puck line.
Other good NHL puck line bets
Philadelphia is a distant second (18-11 against the NHL betting puck line, $867) and Montreal, which has come back to earth a bit after a strong start, is third (18-13, $705).
Worst NHL puck line bets
The worst team on the NHL betting puck line is the Dallas Stars (9-20, -$1,767). New Jersey and Anaheim have also been poor NHL betting picks against the puck line.
