NHL betting odds suggest the Toronto Maple Leafs will earn the most points of all Canadian teams during the 2013-14 NHL season, but the Vancouver Canucks have the best chance of making the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Toronto’s over/under on regular season points is listed at Bodog as 96.5, and the Leafs are -210 favourites to make their second straight playoff appearance. Vancouver is projected to earn 95.5 points this season, but is a whopping -700 favourite to qualify for postseason play.

The Montreal Canadiens (-165), Ottawa Senators (-135) and Edmonton Oilers (-125) are also favoured to qualify for the playoffs. Five Canadian teams reaching the postseason would no doubt make the suits at CBC and TSN very happy come April.

Sorry Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames fans, but your outlook doesn’t look quite as bright. The Jets are +375 darkhorses to make the playoffs, and the Flames — Brian Burke or not — are +475 longshots.
