NHL Opening Night Odds Finally Up

Opening night odds for the National Hockey League have finally been posted.

The oddsmakers project a competitive four-game slate Thursday. The defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks are the biggest favourite on the board, listed at -130 against the host Colorado Avalanche.

In the other games, the Minnesota Wild is a -118 favourite at home to the Carolina Hurricanes, the Toronto Maple Leafs are -122 chalk against the visiting Montreal Canadiens, and the Calgary Flames at Edmonton Oilers is listed at -104 each way.

When dealing with moneylines, odds with a minus sign in front of them mean that you’ll have to bet that amount to win $100. For example, if you pick the –130 Blackhawks, you’d have to bet $130 to win $100 (or $13 to win $10, and so on).

If the odds have a plus sign in front of them, you would win that amount on a $100 bet. The Avalanche at +122 would net you $122 on a $100 wager.

All totals are posted at 5.5, with the under costing more juice in the Wild/Canes and Flames/Oilers matchups.

All these odds are available at Pinnacle Sports, which has the lowest odds (-104 pricing) on NHL games this season.
