Raptors Basketball Betting: Toronto at Philadelphia Preview

Andrea Bargnani hopes Tuesday’s itinerary includes a plate of spaghetti and a win in Philly.

Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers (-5, O/U 182)

Road victories don’t come too easily for the Raptors these days, but they might like their chances of stealing one Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Toronto has won nine of its past 13 visits to the 76ers, including a 99-78 romp in the Raps’ last trip to Philly April 4, and is 18-5-2 against the spread in its last 25 at the Sixers. Perhaps that history of success can help the Raptors overcome their struggles on the road this season, as the team has averaged only 91 points a game away from the Air Canada Centre (10.2 less than their average output at home).

Toronto is coming off a come-from-behind 97-86 home victory over Orlando Sunday. Jose Calderon had nine points and a season-high 18 assists, proving to be a nice backup for injured point guard Kyle Lowry.

Philadelphia will be concluding a five-game homestand during which the Sixers lost the first two before winning the last two. Philly downed the Cavaliers 86-79 Sunday.

The Sixers have been known to play some snoozers this season, ranking near the bottom of the NBA in offence but in the top five in defence.

Philly has won five of its last six games against the Raptors, including a 93-83 win in Toronto Nov. 10.

Some strong trends point to the under in this one. The under is 17-4 in the Raptors’ last 21 division games, 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between the teams and 4-0 in the last four meetings in Philly.
