Royals at Mets, 8:07 p.m. eastern, Sportsnet 1

It’s do or die time for the Mets, entering tonight in a 2-0 hole in the World Series. They’ll send hard-throwing Noah Syndergaard to the mound in 12-degree (Celsius) conditions tonight in Queen’s. The Royals love hitting fastballs, but it’s a bit more difficult to do that in cold weather. Kansas City counters with Yordano Ventura, who also throws hard but isn’t the same caliber as Syndergaard.

With the edge KC enjoys in the bullpen, the Mets are in trouble if they’re not winning this game after 5 innings. We’ll go that route instead of the full game, taking New York -140 to be ahead after the first 5 at BetOnline.

Blackhawks at Wild, 8 p.m. eastern, NHL Centre Ice

Minnesota has had this game circled on its calendar as its first chance to avenge last year’s loss to Chicago in the Western Conference semifinals. They have a great chance to get their revenge tonight as the Blackhawks enter this one having not scored a 5-on-5 goal in over a week. Chicago’s lost 3 in a row on the road, and the Wild has won 4 straight at home. We like Minnesota -142 at Pinnacle Sports.

Bulls at Pistons, 7:30 p.m. eastern

Chicago’s known as a defensive team, but that should change under new coach Fred Hoiberg. In their last game, the Bulls jacked up 28 three-pointers and shot 58.3 per cent from the field on their way to scoring 115 points against the Nets. Detroit’s also happy to bomb away from behind the 3-point line and won’t shy away from a fast-paced game. Give us the Over 200.5 -110 at Sports Interaction.
