I woke up one morning and saw a text message from a buddy of mine who was asking for Super Bowl betting advice.

And parlays — which require you to get all your bets correct to cash your ticket — might look like they offer fat payouts, but in reality they drastically reduce your chances of getting paid anything at all.

Online sportsbooks, on the other hand, allow you to bet on one game at a time. That’s perfect for anyone wanting to do Super Bowl betting without relying on the Canadiens to beat the Jets earlier in the afternoon.

(Although the payout on ‘yes’ to that overtime prop might look tempting, we’ll strongly advise you to take the ‘no’ if you are going to bet it. There has never been an overtime game in Super Bowl history.)
