Week 14 CFL Picks: Looking To Build On A 10-3 ATS Run

Our Week 13 CFL betting picks ended with a bit of a dud as the Alouettes were blown out at home, but it was still a 2-1 week. That extended the hot streak for our weekly free CFL betting picks to 10-3 over the last 13 picks and 17-11 on the year.

Montreal looked like it was in a good spot following a coaching change, especially after we teased the Als up over a touchdown, but the Alouettes looked lifeless in their 29-11 loss to Ottawa.

Earlier in the week, we nailed a pair of Team Total unders as Hamilton and Edmonton both struggled on offense, and hit the first leg of our teaser as Calgary easily handled the visiting Lions.

It’s been a busy week, so we’ve just got time right now to put up a pick for this Friday’s game between the RedBlacks and Blue Bombers. Hopefully, we’ll find time over the next day or two to add a couple more picks to these Week 14 CFL betting picks.

 

Week 14 CFL Betting Picks

1. RedBlacks at Blue Bombers Betting Pick


The RedBlacks are playing really good football right now, yet find themselves as 7-point underdogs this week in Winnipeg. Part of that is because the Blue Bombers are 8-3, part is because Winnipeg is coming off a bye week, and part is that Ottawa’s quarterback might be making his first career start.

However, it feels like too much of an overadjustment. Earlier this season, the RedBlacks were 3-point favourites when they hosted Winnipeg. Is a change in home field and an injured quarterback for Ottawa really worth 10 points on the spread? We don’t think so.

A 7-point spread and an Over/Under in the mid 50s leaves Ottawa with a Team Total of less than 25. That’s more than 4 points lower than what the RedBlacks have put up in 4 of their last 5 games, and Winnipeg has held an opponent under 26 just once in its last 8 outings (against the woeful Ticats attack.)

Ottawa’s worth a look on the point spread here as well, but our favourite way to play this is taking the RedBlacks Team Total Over and daring the Bombers defence to stop them.
