NHL Betting Picks For Tuesday, February 27

We’re back today for the first time since a 3-0 sweep on Thursday that improved the season record for these NHL betting picks to a sizzling 30-14!

It’s been difficult lately to find the time to post these picks with writeups, and we’ve got to be brief once again today.

Don’t forget to check out our live odds page if you’re interested in seeing tonight’s NHL betting lines. Otherwise, here’s what we like for tonight:

NHL Betting Picks For Tonight

Toronto Maple Leafs at Florida Panthers

Even without Auston Matthews, the Maple Leafs continue to hum along, thanks to an offence that is firing on all cylinders. Last night in Tampa Bay marked the 9th time in 10 games that Toronto has scored at least 3 goals, and the Buds have needed to score that many lately in order to overcome a defence that has sprung a few more leaks than usual.

Florida’s happy to play an up-tempo game right now as well, evidenced by a 6-5 win over the Penguins Saturday. The Panthers’ offence is rolling just as nicely as the Leafs, and we considered the Over 6 at -107 odds here. However, Over 6 is almost the same as asking both teams to score at least 3 goals, and going the Team Total Over with the Leafs (even if it’s a bit juicier at -128) enables us to win this bet if Toronto wins a low-scoring game like 3-1 or 3-2.

NHL Betting Prediction: Maple Leafs Team Total Over 2.5 -128

Calgary Flames at Dallas Stars

Ken Hitchcock may be known as a defensive-first coach, but that’s not the way his Stars are playing at the moment. After playing some really sound hockey for a prolonged stretch, Dallas has given up 5 goals or more in 3 of its last 6 outings, including a 5-3 loss at home to the Jets on Saturday.

The Stars are also slumping on the offensive end of the ice, which may be where their focus is tonight. Calgary is starting Jon Gillies in net, and we’re not sure he’s up to the challenge of keeping this Dallas attack grounded. But what we are sure about is that Calgary is putting the puck in the net with regularity of late, scoring at least 3 goals in 8 of its last 10 games and playing with a ton of confidence.

We like the full-game Over here as well, but like in the Leafs game, we’ll go the team total route in which we simply ask the underdog to get to 3 and don’t worry about the other side.

NHL Betting Prediction: Flames Team Total Over 2.5 -112
