Good news for Canucks fans still trying to get over Vancouver’s loss in last season’s Stanley Cup final: the Canucks are favoured to win it all this year.

Pinnacle Sports lists the Canucks’ odds of winning the Cup as just short of 8:1 (+777). The Penguins follow closely behind at +804, with the Capitals (+835), Flyers (+1047) and defending champion Bruins (+1137) rounding out the top five.

If you believe in destiny, the Jets are a fat 67:1 longshot to win the Cup in their first year back in Winnipeg.

Futures bets are a nice way to make the NHL season a bit more exciting, and you can win big if your team ends up winning the Cup. Another strategy might be to bet on up to five teams to win it all. If one of them does, you’ll still come out with a healthy profit.
