Free MLB Pick For Wednesday Oct. 6

Tampa's David Price is dominant at home

Every now and then here at Sportsbookbonus.ca, we’ll be posting a free pick that we are betting ourselves.

Like anyone else, we’re not going to win every single one of these plays. But over time, we expect these picks to be profitable for both us and our followers.

We’re coming off a nice win Sunday in the NFL as the San Diego Chargers absolutely dismantled the Arizona Cardinals 41-10, easily covering as -9 favourites. Coming off a disappointing loss to Seattle the previous week, San Diego came out focused and built a 28-7 lead by halftime.

Let’s go win another one. We’ll turn to baseball this time, where the playoffs get underway Wednesday. Our favourite game on the board is the Tampa Bay Rays against the Texas Rangers.

Which pitcher in baseball is the toughest to beat on his home mound? For our money, it’s David Price. The Tampa ace has gone 9-2 with a 1.96 ERA at Tropicana Field this season, holding opponents to a .206 batting average. Those stats right there should make the Rays a bigger favourite than they are in this one.

Cliff Lee takes the bump for Texas, and he’s no slouch either. But he is a pedestrian 4-6 with a 3.98 ERA since joining the Rangers in the middle of the season, and the Rays beat him three times this year already.

Texas is making its first appearance in the playoffs this century. Tampa’s roster is loaded with players that went all the way to the World Series two years ago. Experience can ease those first-game jitters, just one more reason to like the Rays in Game 1.

Take Tampa Bay Rays -123, and good luck!
