They might be No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, but the Alabama Crimson Tide (13-1 SU, 8-6 ATS) are 7-point favorites for Monday’s National Championship game in Glendale versus the No. 1 Clemson Tigers (14-0 SU, 7-7 ATS).

Most of the props available as of Thursday afternoon leaned heavily in Alabama’s favor, as well. Kick-off is at 8:30 PM ET.

Much of the early betting action was on Alabama, though Clemson began to get support as well.

Alabama rolls into the title game on an 11-game winning streak, going 6-1 ATS since the end of October. The Tide blanked Michigan State 38-0 in the Cotton Bowl as 9.5-point favorites, while 4-point underdog Clemson put away Oklahoma 37-17 in the Orange Bowl. Monday will be the first meeting between these two teams since 2008.

The title game is billed as a clash between Clemson’s outstanding offense, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson, and Alabama’s top-ranked defense. However, the Tigers’ defense is one of the best in the FBS, while Alabama’s offense barely cracks the Top 25 on the S&P+ Ratings at Football Outsiders. Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson (10.5 sacks) is expected to play on Saturday after suffering a knee injury during the early minutes of the Orange Bowl.
